Vasco M. van Roosmalen has lived and worked in tropical South America for most of his life. Educated at Denison University in the United States and at the University of Nijmegen in the Netherlands, he has lived in the US, Netherlands, Brazil, French Guiana, and Suriname. He is co-founder and CEO of ReSeed PBC a Delaware-registered company that partners with landholders around the world to create carbon credits and other ecosystem services data of the highest quality, social impact and transparency. ReSeed brings credits and certifications to market by incentivizing carbon stewardship through the conservation of carbon stocks as well as carbon sequestration through practices like agroforestry, climate-smart agriculture, biodiversity conservation, soil regeneration and reforestation.
He is also co-founder of the Equipe de Conservação da Amazonia (ECAM) a Brazilian NGO that works to strengthen indigenous communities in the management and protection of their traditional territories.
Over the last 20 years, Vasco has worked with over 120 indigenous, and other traditional communities in helping them create the tools for accessing sustainable finance for their land management.
