Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) is one of the highest ranked universities in the world within agriculture, forestry and environment/ecology.

The teaching, research and environmental monitoring and assessment at SLU create knowledge that contributes to achieving the goals for sustainable development, both in Sweden and globally.

SLU is also the responsible authority for official statistics about the state and changes in Swedish forests. Moreover, SLU monitors and analyzes the state and trends of the Swedish biodiversity in order to support efforts to achieve the country’s biodiversity objectives. SLU provides a basis for monitoring of compliance with the Biodiversity Convention, the EC Habitats and Birds Directive and other Swedish international biodiversity commitments.
