Alexander Bashian

Alex Bashian is Director of Innovative Finance at The Rockefeller Foundation, where he leads equity and debt Program Related Investments focused on clean energy, regenerative agriculture, and nature-based solutions. Alex has served as an Investment Manager at Invested Development, an early-stage impact VC fund; a Senior Investment Officer at responsAbility Investments covering a $500M+ climate fund; and most recently led impact investments and strategic philanthropy at Meta.

Alex began his career at Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers covering North American Power and Renewables. His academic background includes a B.A. in Environmental Studies with a minor in Finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and an MPA from Columbia University with a specialization in International Energy Management and Policy. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.
