Esben previously helped manage a ~€3B AUM natural resource portfolio for APG AM, and led African and Asian advisory services for a global timberland advisory firm. Esben started his investing career in 2008 managing the world’s first global frontier timberland fund. Within the fund team, Esben was responsible for the origination and acquisition of African investments and was later responsible for investments in Latin America. Esben holds a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. in Forestry from University of Copenhagen as well as an interdisciplinary diploma in Tropical Land Use Management. Esben is a frequent speaker on the challenging nature of responsible investing in frontier and emerging market timberlands.
