Neelesh Agrawal is the CEO at Calculus Carbon, a Temasek portfolio firm via IE Ventures II, enabling institutional fund raising for early stage, large scale NbS projects in SE Asia, Africa and Latin America. The firm jointly engages with 14 Natural Capital Funds (NCFs) across Europe and UK to identify scalable investment opportunities across Afforestation, Agroforestry, Biochar, Mangrove and Peatland Restoration. Over the last 2+ years, the firm has built an investment pipeline of $150 Mn+ in NbS assets.

The firm has a deep expertise in sourcing high quality investible projects and works closely with asset managers at its partner NCFs to deploy institutional financing for long term offtake agreements in the voluntary carbon markets. Neelesh, having been extensively involved in due-diligence on behalf of multiple NCFs in the UK and Europe, is adept in the nuances of the project design for early stage, large scale ARR and Mangrove Restoration projects, that lead to fund placement by global NCFs.

Prior to Calculus Carbon, Neelesh was an asset manager at a $2.2 Bn Real Estate fund co-sponsored by CPPIB, having started his career in Investment Banking in Infrastructure and Real Assets. Calculus Carbon was started with a view that NbS is soon evolving to be an Infrastructure asset class and would also require institutional market making prevalent for institutional fund placement.
