Marco Boscolo

Forestry Officer

Marco Boscolo is a Forestry Officer in the Forest Governance and Economics team at FAO. His work focuses on inclusive and sustainable forest value chains, access to finance, the economics of ecosystem restoration, and community concessions as conservation and development instruments. He has worked extensively on the economics of natural resource management and policy in developing countries, including on the valuation of ecosystem services of tropical forests. Between 2016 and 2017 he managed a project in Bangladesh which produced the first Country Investment Plan on environment, forestry and climate change. Prior to joining FAO in 2007, he was a research fellow at the Center for International Development of Harvard University. He holds a PhD in forest resources economics and co-authored over 60 forest-related publications.
