Andrea Colán

Andrea has 10+ years of experience working in climate finance. Currently, she is part of DEG’s Global Climate Investment team, which invests in forestry and other nature-based solutions as a contribution to DEG’s Impact and Climate strategy. Previously, she worked as a project manager for the German technical cooperation GIZ, providing advisory services on climate finance to ministries and public financial institutions in developing countries. She studied Languages, Cultural and Business Studies at Passau University and holds an M.A. in Development Finance from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.

As a member of the KfW Banking Group, DEG provides long-term capital to private companies in emerging economies. DEG’s objective is to generate a positive development impact through its investments while generating a risk-adjusted, sustainable return on its invested capital.
