Amy Refaat is a Senior Consultant with over 17 years of experience at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), where she has advanced from full-time staff to a senior consulting role, continuing to work closely with IFC teams across diverse projects. She works to design and implement upstream projects that enable private investment in underfinanced sectors, including climate and nature, across emerging markets. Amy brings a systems lens to project development—identifying barriers, shaping markets, and building investable pipelines to attract private capital. Her work spans agriculture, clean energy, education, IT, and more. Often engaged before pilots begin, she works to understand country- or sector-specific constraints that may prevent promising models from scaling. She plays a catalytic role in designing pilots and then taking them to scale—crafting strategies that are tailored to the local context and investment-ready.
