James Askew

James Askew is Chief Development Officer at NatureVerse. He is a conservation biologist with experience in sourcing, developing, and implementing carbon projects across Asia, using Verra’s VCS, CCB, and SDVista standards.

At NatureVerse, James leads project development, policy engagement, and sustainability across the company’s integrated forestry business lines, including the use of Logged to Protected Forest (LtoPF), Reduced Impact Logging (RIL) under the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) standard, and Assisted Natural Regeneration (ANR) methods.

James received his Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology from USC and was a research fellow on forest ecology at Carnegie Institute for Science. He previously led business development in Asia for Wildlife Works Carbon LLC.
