Yiwei Wang joined The Nature Conservancy in 2023 as their Nature-based Solutions Program Coordinator for the Asia Pacific. In this role, she works to facilitate development of nature-based solutions that benefit climate, biodiversity, and people throughout the region. She focuses on providing capacity and strategic support to teams in Australia, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, and Indonesia, primarily.

Yiwei grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and has called the South Bay her home for most of her life. She attended Cornell University, completing a double major in Biology and Psychology, and received her PhD in Environmental Studies from the University of California Santa Cruz in 2014. Her dissertation focused on exploring how human development impacts mountain lion behavior and their relationships with other smaller carnivores and prey species. After graduate school, she served as the Executive Director for the San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory, a regional bird conservation non-profit for over six years before moving to Singapore.
