Harald has a Master and PhD studies in forestry at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna. He is the CEO of the private company Umweltdata Ltd., dealing with aerial photo interpretation and remote sensing. Harald is also a Senior researcher in remote sensing at the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research. A Director of the Austrian Federal Research and Training Centre for Forests, Natural Hazards and Landscape. He has been a EU Affairs officer of the Austrian Forest-based Sector Cooperation Platform. Since February 2013, he represents the European Forest Institute in Brussels as Liaison Officer.
