Florian Reimer

Florian Reimer
Co-founder & Chief Operating Officer
Kennemer Eco Solutions
Florian works on financing conservation & restoration of nature with market-based instruments for the last 15 years across Latin America, Africa, Asia and Australia. He was involved in successfully bringing 10 nature-based carbon projects to market. In 2020 he co-founded the leading nature-based project developer of the Philippines, KenEco. In 2022 the company was awarded the first nature-based carbon credit in the history of the Philippines from its VCS-CCB Triple Gold Level tree planting project MinTrees.
During early work on “proto-REDD” in 2010 in the Brazilian Amazon with CIFOR, Florian realized that developing countries have enough skilled professionals to make conservation at scale a success – but that finances are the key bottleneck. Since then he endeavors to apply his scientific skills to unlock finance for conservation & restoration at scales in tropical forest countries.
Florian worked on non-carbon finance for nature in his roles for smallholder agroforestry in ASEAN funded by CSR or hectare-based biodiversity credits in Indonesia. Currently working on landscape conservation & restoration for both carbon and biodiversity credits in the Asia-Pacific region as well as exploring high-integrity removal credits from using digital solutions to scale up tree planting (ARR). Former member of the Technical Advisory Committee of Plan Vivo Carbon and participating in the Verra Nature Framework pilot phase.
