Luke Smith has over three decades of experience across academia, publicly funded research organisations, and the private sector. He has led major biodiversity impact assessment, management, and long-term environmental science programs, including large-scale ecological restoration initiatives. His work increasingly focuses on corporate-funded projects that deliver measurable outcomes for habitat, species, and ecological function. He advocates for the role of large corporations in halting and reversing global biodiversity decline. Luke currently leads the Biodiversity and Strategic Science team at Woodside Energy and holds an Adjunct Professorship at the University of Western Australia.
