Dr. Kathleen Buckingham, veritree’s Director of Science, brings 20 years of expertise in nature-based solutions. She holds a PhD in Geography and the Environment from the University of Oxford, along with postgraduate degrees in Data Science, Technology & Innovation, and Environmental Sustainability from the University of Edinburgh. Kathleen specializes in developing scalable methods for measuring impact.
Previously, Kathleen led research for the World Resources Institute’s Global Restoration Initiative and served as an advisor to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization’s Forest and Landscape Restoration Mechanism. With extensive field experience across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, she brings a global perspective to her work. Originally from the UK, Kathleen spent six years in China before settling in the U.S.
