Edward Daniels is Team Head Forestry at Aquila Capital.

Having qualified as a chartered accountant with a small firm in London, Edward has had over 25 years of experience in accountancy, managerial and investment related roles.

Edward qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Shelley, Simmons Pinnick and then joined Ernst & Young LLP in 2000 and spent six years in roles in transaction services in London and New York. Following this, he spent four years as a Fund Manager to the Ludgate Environmental Fund.

In 2010, Edward joined FIM Services Limited as Executive Manager and helped increase its Asset under Management from £200m to just under £1 billion before Gresham House plc acquired it in 2018.

As an investment director at FIM Services/Gresham House plc, Edward spent 10 years investing in commercial forestry, woodland creation projects and renewable energy schemes, and providing professional advice to institutional, family office and private clients in the sale, investment and asset management of these assets in the UK and Ireland.

His knowledge and experience of the UK Forestry Investment Market is extensive and detailed having acquired over £400 million of commercial forestry properties throughout the UK and Ireland in the last 10 years.

In November 2020, Edward joined BNP Paribas Real Estate UK, as the Head of Forestry at John Clegg & Co, a trading entity of BNP Paribas, with the objective to expand the forestry advisory business, providing excellent client service and to integrate into the wider Strutt & Parker Rural business, another trading entity of BNP Paribas.

In May 2022, Edward joined Aquila Capital as Team Head of Forestry with the goal of leading on Aquila’s continued expansion in international forestry, timber and carbon.
