Ed is responsible for leading the integration of regenerative agriculture into farmland investment strategies at Savills Investment Management, overseeing the operational management of agricultural assets and embedding ESG principles across the portfolio. This includes aligning financial performance with measurable outcomes in soil health, biodiversity, water quality, and carbon sequestration, while managing relationships with key stakeholders.

Ed is an agricultural professional with over 13 years’ experience managing a 3,500ha enterprise and leading a team of 10 full-time employees alongside multiple contractors. In their previous roles, they have successfully transitioned farms from low-margin bulk commodities to high-margin specialist crops, developed scalable sustainability tracking systems using Omnia and other digital tools, and delivered natural capital integration through biodiversity, carbon, and water metrics.

Having led large-scale agricultural operations, Ed understands the complexities of delivering commercially viable, regenerative farming practices at scale. As an NFU Combinable Crops Board Appointee (2020-2023), they advised the NFU President, briefed government ministers, and contributed to policy development on regenerative agriculture, carbon reporting, and the Sustainable Farming Incentive. Earlier in their career as an Agronomist with Hutchinsons, they gained BASIS and FACTS qualifications, managed diverse client portfolios, and helped develop the sustainable farming model now used by the company.

Ed’s work has also included cross-functional projects such as managing Royal Agricultural University farms to demonstrate regenerative practices, partnering with global brands on sustainable supply chains, and designing frameworks that deliver long-term, resilient value for investors.
