Bourhan Yassin is a seasoned leader at the intersection of technology and conservation, with over two decades of experience scaling operations and driving innovation. Before dedicating his career to conservation, he led large Operations and Engineering teams in Silicon Valley, including at Powis and Zazzle, and was COO of MarkaVIP, a leading e-commerce platform based out of Dubai.
For seven years, Bourhan played a key role in Rainforest Connection (RFCx), serving as COO and later CEO, transforming it into a global leader in conservation technology. Under his leadership, RFCx expanded to 35 countries, deploying AI-driven bioacoustics monitoring solutions and securing major global partnerships. He was recognized as one of Google.org’s 2023 Leaders to Watch for his contributions to conservation tech.
Now, as President & CEO of Map of Life Solutions, a Yale University-backed venture, Bourhan is leading the next frontier in biodiversity intelligence. Map of Life Solutions provides cutting-edge biodiversity measurement and decision-support solutions for Corporate ESG teams, Governments, NGOs, and Research Institutions. Under his leadership, the company has gained global recognition, including winning the XPRIZE Rainforest competition for its advanced biodiversity monitoring technologies.
