Alan Batista is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Symbiosis, a native species forestry company. Prior to that, he was the investment manager for the Amazon Biodiversity Fund at Mirova Natural Capital, a fund dedicated to impact investing in the Amazon. Alan was an investment specialist at WRI Brasil and a forestry analyst at Ibá (Brazilian Tree Industry), a forestry industry association in Brazil. He holds a master’s degree in forest economics and was awarded the Erasmus Mundus scholarship, a dual degree awarded by the University of Freiburg in Germany and the University of Eastern Finland. He holds a degree in Forestry Engineering from the University of São Paulo (ESALQ/USP). Alan is also a CFA charterholder.
