Thomas Duurland is Program Manager for Landscape Finance at IDH, The Sustainable Trade Initiative based in the Netherlands. Thomas is responsible for managing the AGRI3 TA Facility, the learning & impact agendas of the various TA Facilities under IDH management, and for supporting IDH Landscape staff in designing and incubating investment projects to scale-up sustainable landscape impacts. Prior to joining the Landscape Finance team, Thomas was responsible for setting up the National Initiatives for Sustainable, Climate-smart Oil Palm Smallholders (NI-SCOPS) program at IDH in collaboration with Solidaridad and worked as an innovation & knowledge manager on topics such as sustainable land use (e.g. Agroforesty) and mitigation of deforestation. In these roles, he has worked closely with multiple public, private and civil partners across various supply chains and geographies, including oil palm in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Nigeria, cocoa in West Africa, and tea and cattle in Kenya.
