Dr. Ryan Merrill works as Founder and Executive Secretary of the Global Mangrove Trust, a SG-based non-profit developing community-based mangrove easements in Southeast Asia. GMT and its partners are pioneering digital technologies to improve accuracy and scalability of blue carbon financing. Dr. Merrill is also co-founder of Handprint Tech, a Singaporean Greentech helping businesses accelerate their transition into the regenerative economy. In a previous life, Ryan served as a postdoctoral fellow in sustainability at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business at Singapore Management University. Ryan holds a Masters of Pacific and International Affairs from UC San Diego and a PhD in Energy and Environmental Policy from the Sol Price School at the University of Southern California.
