Duncan co-founded Calyx Global at the start of 2021 with the aim to increase the impact carbon markets have on climate change, ecosystems and people. Calyx Global have developed a systematic approach to assessing carbon methodologies and credits with regard to their greenhouse gas integrity (assessing the likelihood that carbon credits truly meet their CO2 reduction or removal claim) and are working on an approach to assess SDG impact (starting with a rating on the quality of the certifications used to claim SDG impacts and moving to an assessment approach for the depth of the impact itself). We are using these approaches to rate projects and making these ratings available to users together with other carbon credit insights. Prior to this, Duncan started and led Shell's Global Nature-Based Solutions group, which has grown into a leading player in the growing natural capital sector.
