Jose A. Restrepo is the CTO of Ecotropics, a project developer advancing REDD+, ARR, and biodiversity portfolios across Latin America. He has spent nearly two decades at the intersection of data science and climate fintech, originating high-integrity credits under leading certification standards that directly benefit hundreds of farming families.

Jose combines on-the-ground project origination with a record of shipping production software for NASA, Ford, Nutrien, and Epic Games. He is currently building MastingAI, an Integrated Platform as a Service (IPaaS) that unlocks bankable forest carbon and biodiversity credits for institutional buyers and corporate net-zero strategies. Through MastingAI and Great Geometer Software, Jose is designing an end-to-end, API-driven, blockchain-enabled dMRV and trading stack that interoperates project developers, VVBs, registries, certifiers, brokers, rating agencies, and underwriters, while cutting Capex/Opex and compressing verification timelines for nature-based solutions.

Previously, he architected the Agrible AgTech carbon origination platform at Nutrien Ag Solutions, enrolling over one million acres and delivering carbon payments across North America. At CIFB, he seeks partners and investors to scale MastingAI’s verifiable credit pipeline and secure long-term offtake and co-investment in high-quality, community-led forest landscapes.
