Research and Development Lead
The Biodiversity Consultancy
Graham is Research Lead in the technical design and development team with a focus on helping clients to understand and use biodiversity data and metrics to align with the requirements set out by the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) and Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD).
An interdisciplinary conservation scientist, Graham has over 10 years' experience solving applied research problems with industry, academic, NGO, and government partners. He has expertise in measuring and understanding biodiversity and has carried out multi-taxon surveys and large-scale field experiments in forest and oil palm landscapes in Borneo and Colombia to test strategies for sustainable palm oil production.
Graham strongly believes that effective conservation has to tackle the root causes of biodiversity loss. He has investigated the political and economic context of deforestation and informal gold mining in Myanmar and managed an international project investigating the role of conserving mountain biodiversity in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in Bolivia, Nepal, and Tanzania.
Graham speaks fluent French and Spanish and is a lead author of the IPBES Nexus Assessment.
