KAYA Climate Solutions

Chris is a natural climate solutions professional, drawing on a wealth of experience in carbon finance and markets, project certification schemes, land use, forestry and other NbS initiatives. At KAYA he leads the Policy & Markets function, assessing risks and opportunities across various markets as KAYA looks to develop restoration, agroforestry and grassland fire management initiatives in southern Africa.

Prior to joining Kaya at the end of 2024, he consulted on policy developments impacting carbon markets, particularly Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, as well as various aspects of the VCM space. He previously headed up the Plan Vivo Secretariat for 6 years and has a passion for initiatives that put local communities at the heart of environmental solutions. He has also worked in retail, banking and corporate communications earlier in his career. In his spare time, he is a permaculture fan and attempts to puts theory into practice in his own garden
