Andrew Sunarko is the Chief Executive Officer of NatureVerse, a company advancing natural climate solutions through the conservation, restoration, and sustainable management of natural assets, and Orimba, a forestry company focused on sustainable wood manufacturing and responsible land use practices. A third-generation forester, Andrew champions sustainable forest management as a pathway to increased conservation, biodiversity protection, reduced emissions from improved land use, enhanced community livelihoods, and sustainable development.

Under Andrew’s leadership, both companies demonstrate how multi-use forestry models can align ecological integrity with economic viability. By integrating timber and non-timber forest products alongside environmental services such as carbon credits and biodiversity conservation, Andrew is transforming the forestry sector into a driver of a circular bioeconomy. He is also actively developing innovative financing strategies and investments to support long-term forestry investments while navigating the risks of emerging markets and novel products, with a strong emphasis on impact, quality, and integrity.

Beyond his corporate role, Andrew is actively involved in key industry associations and forums, where he advocates for sustainable forest management and inspires partners to adopt transformative and sustainable forestry models. His commitment to advancing best practices and fostering collaboration positions him as a leading voice in shaping forestry as a regenerative and climate-resilient industry.

His notable projects include the ongoing development of a 625,000-hectare forest conservation and improved forest management (IFM) project in the Heart of Borneo and the launch of the Sustainable Forest Partnership Program, promoting reduced-impact logging (RIL), high conservation value approaches, and FSC certification across third-party forest partner suppliers managing up to 660,000 hectares.

Andrew holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Bentley University, USA.
