Daniel Rustenburg leads the Trees for Farmers program at Rabo Carbon Bank, part of Rabobank. The Trees for Farmers program is a global program with a mission to enable forestry projects at Rabobank farmers and other landowners across the globe. Rabobank’s unique position as a bank with strong global connections in the Food and Agri industry enables Rabobank to activate the movement needed for change. Rabo Carbon Bank sees it its mission to work together with farmers and companies to reduce and remove carbon from the atmosphere. We aim to accelerate the sustainability transformation in agriculture. We support farmers in their transition to regenerative practices and we offer solutions to our corporate clients to reach their climate targets.

Before joining the Rabo Carbon Bank, Daniel was responsible for managing a cyber security program for Rabobank and was active as a consultant assigned to KPMG. Besides his professional career, Daniel has set up a sustainability committee at his previous employer, provides personal sustainability trainings and has been active in a sustainable research program for IFAW in Kenya.

Daniel has a Master of Science degree from the Rotterdam School of Management in Business Information Management (Cum Laude) including an exchange period at Guanghua School of Management (Beijing), and Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Business Economics and Tax Economics from the Erasmus School of Economics (Rotterdam), including an exchange period at Carlos III University (Madrid).
